Vrådal Hyttegrend (Hyttegrend means chalet village) consists of 20 comfortable wooden chalets, complete with saunas. The chalets are designed for two families sleeping 8 persons. The village overlooks Lake Nisser in the county of Telemark. The site is wonderfully situated in a quiet and children safe environment.

In the winter the guests enjoy the warm and cosy chalets with wood burning stoves. The logs are free of charge. From the chalets signed trails lead cross country to a mountainous area and also over the frozen lake Nisser to Vrådal Center (3km) and the Straand Hotel (2km). Our guests have access to the swimming pool facilities and activities at the Straand Hotel. Popular activities are horse riding and horse sledgeing in the evening.

There are around 500 inhabitants in Vrådal who make their living from tourism, civil service, agriculture and forestry. Vrådal is one of the main winter resorts in the county of Telemark. Winter tourism started in the early 1960 s.
Vrådal Skisenter (7km) operates the first 8-seat chairlift in the world which brings you quickly and comfortably up to about 600 M where three lifts give new and advanced skiers the best conditions for downhill skiing and snowboarding. The Ski centre operates a ski-school, ski rental and two restaurants.

In the summer time, children at Vrådal Hyttegrend enjoy the bouncing pillow, guests enjoy the tennis court, the hosts moose safari and the possibilities of rowing, canoeing, bathing and fishing. Vrådal has a central location for day trips to The Telemark Canal, the stave churches at Eidsborg and Heddal, Oslo and the coastal towns of Kragerø, Arendal, Grimstad and Kristiansand.
