To all with Norwegian roots and interest in visiting Norway
Between 1825 and 2000, about 1 million Norwegians emigrated to overseas destinations. In the US 3,9 million people indicated on the 1990 census that they had ethnic roots in Norway. We think this population is several times bigger. Last year I got visited by three different Norwegian/American families searching our common family roots.
Personally, I’m living on an estate which has belonged to our family since 1612. The old Stabbur (storage house) from 1740 remains us about the culture and clever craftsmanship from our ancestors. We know about many of our family who emigrated to the US from 1843 until 1880. Most of them settled in the Mid West.

We are seeking contacts to tour operators, agents or people with interest in the theme: Norwegian roots. For you who want to plan your own trip, I can give good advices particularly in Norway – please contact med on e-mail.
As a grandfather myself, it would be a pleasure to meet grandparents from Northern America bringing their grandchildren and involving them in their Norwegian heritage.
